Hanan stumbled into an Ashtanga yoga class in 2006 and was hooked by both the physical and mental challenge. Since then she has come to also love the moving meditation of Vinyasa Flow as well as the healing aspects of Myofascial & Trigger Point Release Techniques and Thai Yoga Bodywork. Hanan has received Adjustment Training from David Swenson, Teacher Faculty Training from Johnny Kest, Child and Adolescent Yoga Training from Dr. Julian Wyatt and Thai Bodywork training from Beri Goldberg. Hanan has also taken numerous workshops to deepen her own practice and teaching knowledge. Hanan loves introducing new students to the practice as much as she loves challenging seasoned practitioners in refining their practice.
Thai Yoga Bodywork blends, acupressure, myofascial release, energy balancing techniques, and assisted yoga stretching. It is different from other western forms of bodywork in that there is no oil used and it is administered on a floor mat with the recipient being fully clothed throughout the session. It is so different from what we typically think of “yoga” or “getting a massage” that we describe it as having someone “do yoga to you.” This therapeutic procedure provides relaxation and restores healthy blood circulation. It also treats energy blockages, weak dysfunctional organs, aches, pains, stress and tension, fibromyalgia, migraines, flexibility, paralysis, nerve problems and postural alignments.
